“But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God, who were born, not of blood or of the will of the flesh or of the will of man,
but of God.”
John 1:12-13 NRSV-CI
Are you curious about the Catholic Church?
Do you desire to know more about Jesus Christ and what it means to be a Catholic Christian?
Then you have come to the right place! The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a process designed to guide adults desiring to know more about their relationship with Christ and the Catholic Church to a deeper understanding of both. This process of conversion restores the ancient catechumenate, which was the process used by the early church when people were called to the Catholic Faith. Since it is a process as opposed to a program, the RCIA allows for each individual to make their own journey as they learn more about Catholicism and the role of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
WHO can join RCIA?
–Unbaptized person (adult)
–A person baptized in non-Trinitarian formula
–A person baptized as Catholic, but lacking First Holy Communion and Confirmation
–A person baptized and confirmed as infants in the Catholic Church, but lacking First Holy Communion
–A person baptized in other Christian Churches, in the Trinitarian formula with water
An older child in need of Baptism would enter the RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation of Children), which is similar in process but designed to be presented at an age appropriate level. Depending on their age, after completing RCIC, those children may enter into the PSR program to continue their faith formation.
