Thanks and praise to our Lord Jesus for our community of St. John the Baptist and for inspiring the young Church along the path leading to Confirmation.
Attention allHigh School students entering 11th and 12th grade. It is now time to sign up for the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Archdiocese requires12-14 hoursof Catechesis prior to receiving the Sacrament. This applies to students who attend public, private, and Catholic schools as well as those who are home schooled. St. John the Baptist does 12-hours of Catechesis in August. The dates and times are:
Sunday August 4th;12:15 to 3:15 PM
Monday August 5th, 5:00 to 8:00 PM Make up class
Sunday August 11th 12:15 to 3:15 PM
Monday August 12th 5:00 to 8:00 PM Make up class
Sunday August 18th;12:15 to 3:15 PM
Monday August 19th 5:00 to 8:00 PMMake up class
Sunday August 25th;12:15 to 3:15 PM
Monday August 26th, 5:00 to 8:00 PMMake up class
Because of the length of the classes, lunch will be provided for the Sunday classes. The Monday make up classes are for those students who miss the Sunday class for a good reason. It is not intended to be used for personal preference. Meals are not provided at the make up classes.
In addition to the classes, there is a mandatory retreat that takes place on Sunday September 29that St. Benedict churchfrom 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The Confirmation date isTuesday October 8th at 7:00 PMat St. Benedict church. There is a registration fee of $50.00 that helps pay the cost of the retreat.
