Fr Vincent wishes to extend a heartfelt welcome to all parishioners to return to regular Mass attendance. Your church family misses you. The Mass times remain the same, however, there are some points to know.
The adjusted Mass schedule is as follows:
Saturday Vigil Mass - 4:30 p.m. (reserved for older parishioners to give them the best protection)
Sunday - 7:30, 9:15 and 11:00 a.m.
Weekend Masses are in Jonathan Hall.
1. Families must station themselves at least 6 feet or 4 chair widths apart.
2. Collection basket will be on a table at the Mass area entrance – there will be no passing of the basket during Mass.
3. Everyone is strongly encouraged to wear masks for the protection of your neighbor.
4. For communion, please maintain the six-foot distancing standard while approaching the communion stations in a single line. The floor is marked to help with that.
5. Communion will be carefully distributed without making physical contact. Please help by opening your hand flat and keeping it as steady as possible.
6. Finally, please bring a disinfecting wipe to each Mass so that you can wipe down your area after Mass.
7. Please remember that each Mass is a holy event, even though it is happening in the hall for weekend Masses. Respectful silence until after Mass is completed will be much appreciated.
Weekday Masses consistent with the Archdiocesan guidelines are the usual 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in church.
1. Six-foot distancing requirement during Mass must be maintained. Every other pew is marked as closed.
2. Regarding the distribution of communion, please see the note above.
3. And of course, attendees are strongly encouraging to wear masks.
4. Finally, please bring a disinfecting wipe to each Mass so that you can wipe down your area after Mass.
These are still trying times so patience with fellow parishioners and with staff at St. John is appreciated. The obligation to attend Sunday Mass remains lifted in our Archdiocese. So it is not a sin if you cannot attend.
